With 36 days to go before the beginning of the 2024 CrossFit Games, more news is shaping up the competition. CrossFit has revealed 2 massive cuts scheduled for individuals and teams alike.
The CrossFit Games is taking place on August 8-11 in Fort Worth, Texas and a total of 40 female, 40 male athletes, and 30 teams received an invitation to compete for the title of Fittest on Earth. That number will decrease drastically after a few workouts throughout the weekend.
2024 CrossFit Games Cut Schedules
Individuals
On Thursday and Friday, all athletes will be competing for the crown. However, on Saturday, CrossFit plans 2 massive cuts that will, eventually, crush the dreams of half of those athletes.
Saturday morning, 40 athletes will still compete, but after a set number of events, the playing field will reduce to 30. At the end of the last event on Saturday, the number will be further reduced to 20 athletes.
This means that half athletes who travel to Fort Worth, Texas, will not get a chance to finish all the events.

- Thursday – 40 athletes
- Friday – 40 athletes
- Saturday morning – 40 athletes
- Saturday afternoon – 30 athletes
- Saturday evening (after the last event of the day) – 20 athletes
- Sunday – top 20 athletes compete for the title of Fittest on Earth
Teams

Teams will also see two cuts. However, the schedule is more brutal compared to individuals – only 33% of teams competing will continue on the last day of competition.
- Thursday – 30 teams
- Friday – 30 teams
- Saturday – 20 teams
- Sunday – 10 teams
Presumably, the team’s cut will happen at the last event on Friday evening and on the last event on Saturday evening, reducing the playing field from 30 teams to the top 10 only.
