Although unofficial yet, we now know that Grace Walton and Jonne Koski have won the 2024 CrossFit Open in the women’s and men’s division, respectively. Congratulations to both athletes!
On March 18th 2024, the scores for the last exercise of the 2024 CrossFit Open was due. CrossFit takes some time to be able to validate most of the scores submitted – and even longer to make an official announcement – but as of Thursday evening, they have claimed the winners of workout 24.3 in particular – it was Rebecca Fuselier and Jonne Koski.
With that in mind, it is possible to assume that the top leaderboard of the CrossFit Open for this is locked and loaded, giving the ultimate Open crown to Australian Grace Walton and Finnish athlete Jonne Koski.
Grace Walton and Jonne Koski Win the 2024 CrossFit Open (Unofficial)
With most scores submitted in the platform already validated, Grace Walton and Jonne Koski have claimed (unofficially) to be the winners of the 2024 CrossFit Open.
Grace Walton finished the workouts 8th, 3rd, and 24th worldwide for 24.1, 24.2 and 24.3, respectively. That gave her 35 points across the globe.
Jonne Koski, on the other hand, took over the lead by winning workout 24.3. For 24.1 and 24.2, he finished 27th and 2nd, respectively. His final score, globally, was 30 points.

Who is Grace Walton, Winner of CrossFit Open 2024

Grace Walton has recently found CrossFit (during the pandemic, actually) and is now cruising her way with eyes set on competing at the CrossFit Games for the first time this year.
At only 23 years old and training out of Perth, Australia, the athlete has been to Semifinals in the past two years. However, the Oceania Semifinals was one of the toughest for athletes to compete in with the likes of Tia-Clair Toomey, Kara Saunders, Jammie Simmonds and Ellie Turner, to name a few. However, this year, Toomey is competing out of United States, and Turner announcing she will not compete this year in the official season, the path seems less turbulent for Walton to finally make her way to the big league.
Last year, Walton finished 6th during Semifinals (her best placement yet). For the Open, her best rank before winning this year was in 2023 when she finished 69th worldwide.
Who Is Jonne Koski, Winner of CrossFit Open 2024

Unlike Grace Walton, Jonne Koski is a household name in the CrossFit community. The 29-year-old athlete from Finland has gone to compete at the CrossFit Games 9 times in the last 10 years (missing only in 2018). His best placement at the Games, so far, was 6th, which happened last year and in 2021.
This is the first time he has won the CrossFit Open in his career since he began the Sport in 2013.
