On his Instagram, Moritz Fiebig explained that the competition floor usually gave him energy to fight through the pain of the workout, but yesterday, “for the first time, it drained” his energy.

Here is what he wrote:

Dear Friends, dear Competitors, dear Fans,

The competition floor has always given me the energy to achieve extraordinary performances. Yesterday, for the firs time, it drained my energy.

I tried everything, but right now I neither feel the physical nor the mental strength to succeed in the coming days. I will use the upcoming time to recover.

RIP Lazar, we miss you and you will be always in our hearts.

This was Fiebig 3rd time competing at the CrossFit Games. Every time he made it to the Games, he shared the competition floor with Lazar Dukic and they both battled it out on every Semifinal, both being Europeans.
