Today, human movement brand pliability announced its integration with Hyperice, a global high-performance wellness brand known for producing innovative warm up and recovery technology.

The brands, which share the focus of improving human movement through optimised recovery and warm-ups, will provide new guided routines via the pliability app, combining stretching and Hyperice’s range of Hypervolt massage guns and Vyper vibration rollers to effectively prime the body for movement and recovery.

The new offering within pliability’s already extensive media library of guided mobility routines, sport-specific sessions, targeted body maintenance, and guided breathwork used by elite athletes including 8x CrossFit Games Champion, Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and HYROX Elite 15 athlete, Jake Dearden, brings even more breadth to its recovery toolkit with the addition of routines from Hyperice.

The combination of stretching and percussion technology provide both recovery and activation benefits, along with improving long-term movement quality:

Pre-workout

  • Muscle activation and motor control: dynamic poses used in pliability’s warmup routines improve muscle activation and motor control, reinforcing functional movement patterns.
  • Range of motion and neuromuscular activation: utilising percussive technology as an activation tool, range of motion is further increased as well as neuromuscular activation for increased coordination, strength and power.

Post-workout

  • Increased blood flow and reduction in muscle soreness: using Hyperice products after a workout on a low setting for a longer duration increases blood flow to the area, flushing metabolites (e.g. lactic acid, hydrogen ions, creatine kinase) and reducing muscle soreness.
  • Parasympathetic nervous system activation: the low vibration also engages the parasympathetic nervous system, as do the longer static holds with breathwork from pliability routines, which also improves tissue quality, leading to reduced pain. Used together in this order stimulates blood flow and nervous system down-regulation, improving recovery both physically and mentally.

pliability will feature three Hyperice products within the set routines:

  • Hypervolt 2 Proa hand-held massage gun and Hyperice’s strongest percussion device, offering deep-penetrating relief to stiff muscles via five variable speeds.
  • Hypersphere Go: a massage ball that fits into the palm of your hand with three speeds of vibration (low, medium and high) for rolling over muscles wherever they need loosening up.
  • Vyper 3: a vibrating roller featuring three speeds of high-intensity vibration.

Scott Perkins, Founder of pliability, comments: “At pliability, our goal is to offer our users the best experience by reaching optimal conditions both physically and mentally. Hyperice adopts a similar approach towards their customers, so this integration is well aligned to help more people achieve better movement and education.”

Steph Smith, VP of Marketing at Hyperice, comments: “By fusing our products and pliability’s programming we are providing enhanced tools for people to improve both how they workout and recover. Like pliability, we prioritize helping people move better via facilitating proper warm up, recovery and body maintenance, which is what this integration ultimately achieves.”

The new feature launches on 4th November on the pliability app. For more information on Hyperice products, visit hyperice.com.
