As most people expected, the first event of the 2024 CrossFit Games will have swimming involved. CrossFit announced the event run swim for athletes to kick off the weekend of excitement to discover who are the Fittest on Earth.
Details of the event are not fully known. Through a video shared on YouTube and Instagram accounts, CrossFit says Run Swim will be event 1 and that it will feature a 4-mile run. However, the distance of swimming was not revealed.
Although we understand there will be swimming and running, it is unknown what exactly that entails. Although the event is “for time,” meaning the fastest person to finish the workout wins the most points, details of how (or if) the run is going to be broken down and how far athletes will have to swim.
According to AllTrails.com, there is a loop around the lake where people can run. That loop is 6 miles long (9.7 kilometres), meaning the athletes will most likely do part of the loop before swimming. It is also possible that athletes will have to run, then swim, and then run again – although we know a bit of the details, we cannot know for certain all the pieces of the puzzle.

See the video below for the entire track around Marine Creek Lake done on a motorcycle.
The way is paved the entire time, with a few bridges and not a lot of inclination – alltrails say the inclination gain is 125 metres, but it also claims to be a “challenging route.”
The information for the very first event of the 2024 CrossFit Games has been revealed 5 days after the details of another CrossFit Games event have been shared.
