The 2024 CrossFit Games, which took place last weekend, will forever be defined by the tragic and completely avoidable death of legendary Serbian athlete Lazar Đukić.
The popular and successful athlete drowned during Event 1, less than 50m from the finish line.
In a recent update on Instagram, 3rd place finisher Brent Fikowski wrote about his own frustrating and unfruitful experiences to try and improve the safety policies in place during CrossFit events.
In the post he talks about how himself and a group of professional CrossFit athletes set up the PFAA (Professional Fitness Athlete Association) with this very aim in mind.
