HYROX, the World Series of Fitness Racing, has officially confirmed that the 2024/25 World Championships will be held at the iconic Chicago Navy Pier from June 12th-15th, 2025. This marks a return to the U.S. after two successful seasons in Europe.
A Return to the U.S.
Following the 2022 World Championships in Las Vegas, HYROX has experienced a surge in popularity in the U.S., with many 2024 events selling out nationwide. This overwhelming demand has prompted the return of the World Championships to American soil. Previously held in Manchester, UK, and Nice, France, HYROX is now set to make its grand return to the U.S., which has become one of the sport’s fastest-growing regions.
HYROX: The Fastest-Growing Fitness Sport
With over 550,000 participants expected to race globally this year, including more than 80,000 athletes from the U.S. alone, HYROX is rapidly becoming a global fitness sensation. The unique race format, which combines 8 x 1KM runs followed by functional workouts, offers a challenging test of both endurance and strength – the ultimate competition for modern athletes.
2024/25 World Championships Overview
The four-day event in Chicago will bring together more than 10,000 athletes and fans, featuring two major competitions:
- Elite 15 World Championships (Professional Racing)
- Age Group World Championships
Both competitions will be open only to athletes who have qualified during the regular HYROX season, representing the top 1% of competitors worldwide.
Elite 15 Races
The Elite 15 World Championships will showcase the top 15 Individual, Doubles, and Relay teams, all vying for the coveted HYROX Elite World Champion 2024/25 title. Current champions Megan Jacoby (USA) and Alexander Roncevic (Austria) will defend their titles in a thrilling, live-broadcast race inside a custom-built race theatre.
For the first time, the Elite 15 Doubles World Championships will take place, adding another layer of excitement. In addition, the Elite Relay World Championship will feature national teams composed of the sport’s best athletes, led by key captains, competing for the ultimate prize.
Fans can watch these races both online and in-person, witnessing the world’s top fitness athletes battling for supremacy.
Age Group World Championships
Throughout the weekend, the top individual and doubles athletes in various age groups will compete for the title of Age Group World Champion 2024/25. These athletes have qualified through outstanding performances in regular-season events across the globe.
