Jeff Adler and Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr Win Event 1 of 2025 CrossFit Games

Jeff Adler and Tia-Clair Toomey have both secured first place during the first event of the 2025 CrossFit Games.

Event 1 looked went as follows.

Run/Row/Run

For time:

  • 4-mile run
  • 3,000-meter row
  • 2-mile run

The first Event for the 2025 CrossFit Games was announced on May 20th, the earliest announcement ever for a CrossFit Games event.

Going into the first lap, Garard and Adler led from the front from the beginning. Khrennikov, Hatfield and Bosshard followed.

Tia-Clair Toomey Dominates from the Start

From the moment the event began, Tia-Clair Toomey asserted her dominance, taking the lead early on and setting a strong pace. Close on her heels were Amy Cringle and Haley Adams, both pushing hard to keep up with the seventh-time Fittest on Earth.

Alongside Tia, fellow PRVN athlete Jay Crouch also maintained a strong presence in the field, matching her stride and supporting her aggressive opening. Tia’s momentum carried her into the lead position as the first woman to reach the rower, a key turning point in the race.

Battle on the Rower: Khrennikov vs. Adler

As the field transitioned to the rower, Roman Khrennikov showcased his exceptional skill and endurance on the machine, pulling ahead of the men’s pack. He was the first male athlete to complete the rowing segment, continuing to cement his reputation as one of the most formidable competitors in the sport.

In the women’s division, Amy Cringle matched Tia-Clair stride for stride, both of them finishing the row nearly simultaneously, demonstrating Amy’s impressive grit and determination.

Final Results: Victories Secured

In the men’s competition, it was Jeff Adler who ultimately surged ahead to claim victory, overtaking Khrennikov after the row. Roman held on to take second place, while Ricky Garard fought hard to secure the final podium position in third.

On the women’s side, Tia-Clair Toomey held her lead all the way to the finish line, earning another event win. Amy Cringle finished strong and captured second place with an outstanding performance. Rounding out the podium was Lucy Campbell, who delivered a solid performance to claim third.
