Third time lucky for Lauren Weeks as she claims victory in the Women’s Elite Doubles at HYROX World Champs in Chicago.

After finishing third in the Women’s Elite 15, then winning the Mixed Team Relay as part of a stacked Team USA, only to be disqualified following the racing incident between Hunter McIntyre and Jeremy McConnell, Lauren Weeks claimed victory in the Elite Doubles with her partner Lauren Griffith.

They actually crossed the line in second place after the English pair of Sinead Bent and Lucy Proctor but after penalties were taken into account they were bumped up to first with a time of 54:58.

Weeks and Griffith put in a stellar performance in the Wall Balls, finishing first overall in 3:11. In the end this station was the difference as they gained 23 seconds on Bent and Proctor and they were left with a 9-second advantage.

For Sinead Bent and Lucy Proctor, a total of 25 seconds of penalties accumulated in the 1000 meter Row and the Sandbag Lunges pushed them back one step on the podium. Sinead noted the silver was bittersweet in a post, but also reflected on their rapid rise in the last year.
