Sled Push

The World Fitness Project (WFP) officially opened its 2025 season in May with Tour Stop 1 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event marked the debut of a new global competition format designed to combine pro-level spectacle with a season-long structure.

From athlete walkouts under smoke and lights to a full Rogue rig and a massive warm-up floor, the production value immediately set Tour Stop 1 apart from other competitions.

Results from Indianapolis

In the Pro Women’s division, Alex Gazan claimed the top spot with 490 points, securing the Tour Stop 1 title. She was followed by Danielle Brandon in second place and Aimee Cringle in third.

In the Pro Men’s division, Austin Hatfield earned the win with 499 points, narrowly ahead of James Sprague in second and Jayson Hopper in third.

Both Gazan and Hatfield walked away with 500 points toward the season leaderboard and $30,000 in prize money, establishing themselves as early leaders in the WFP season standings.

The Season Format

The 2025 WFP season is built around multiple Tour Stops leading into the World Fitness Finals:

  • Tour Stop 1: Indianapolis, May 9–11
  • Tour Stop 2: Mesa, Arizona, August 29–31
  • World Fitness Finals: Copenhagen, December 18–21

Each Pro Tour Stop win earns 500 points and $30,000, with points and payouts distributed across the leaderboard. At season’s end, the male and female athletes with the most points will be crowned champions at the Finals in Copenhagen, with $75,000 awarded to the overall winners.

The Challenger Division offers athletes without Pro status a pathway to qualify for Tour Stops and earn one of the 20 Pro cards available for 2026.

Looking Ahead to Mesa

The next chapter of the season will unfold at Tour Stop 2 in Mesa, Arizona later this month. The competition field has already shifted significantly:

Their absence opens the door for other contenders. On the women’s side, attention turns to Laura Horvath, Emma Lawson, and Danielle Brandon. On the men’s side, Austin Hatfield returns as the defending champion, while athletes like James Sprague and Jayson Hopper will look to close the gap.

Why It Matters

Tour Stop 1 proved that the World Fitness Project is serious about delivering a new era for functional fitness. With elite-level production, a global season format, and both Pro and Challenger pathways, WFP is attempting to create continuity and storylines that extend beyond a single weekend competition.

Indianapolis was the curtain-raiser. Mesa will be the test of how those storylines evolve with two major names out of the lineup – and who will rise to take their place.
