After a three-year tenure in Texas, the 2024 Rogue Invitational is going overseas across the pond. This time, the Rogue Invitational is taking place in Scotland from November 8-10.

The Rogue Invitational is in its 6th iteration. The first time, it happened in Ohio, then due to the pandemic it occurred online, and the past three years we saw Texas becoming the home of the CrossFit competition. Now, two months after co-founder Caity Henniger wrote they were “scounting” for Rogue Invitational, we finally know where athletes and lovers of the Sport will have to go to see one of the biggest off-season events of the year.

How Much Money Will Athletes Earn at the 2024 Rogue Invitational

Each year there is a slight increase in the prize purse for athletes competing at the Rogue Invitational. In 2023, this is how the total prize was calculated:

  1. Rogue has provided a 1 million dollar cash investment.
  2. $275,000 of Bitcoin purchased at $16,000 per coin. Any growth on this coin will add to the purse and will be paid out at the valuation at the time the prize purse is locked.
  3. $5 per attendee ticket sold will be added to the purse.
  4. 10% of registration fees for the 2023 online qualifier, “The Q”
  5. 10% of registration fees for the 2023 community event, “The C”
  6. $5.00 for every Rogue Invitational T-shirt sold
  7. $5.00 for every pair of GORUCK Ballistic Trainers sold on roguefitness.com
  8. Sponsors will have the ability to make direct contributions to the purse

It is still too early to know how much money athletes will be competing for in the 2024 Rogue Invitational. The competition itself is not even registered officially on the P&J Live website yet. Last year, we saw the total prize purse reach U$ 1,629,676.17.

At the moment, according to Rogue’s website, the prize purse stands at U$ 1,409,040.44, but this number will likely increase in the coming months ahead of the competition.

CrossFit winners Laura Horvath and Pat Vellner took home $280,303.30, while Strongman champion Mitchell Hooper got $146,015.19 richer.

More About the Rogue Invitational

The Rogue Invitational is an annual sporting event that includes competitions in CrossFit and strongman disciplines. Organized by Rogue, a company known for its strength and conditioning equipment, the event began in 2019 primarily as a CrossFit competition but has since expanded to include strongman contests. The Invitational is known for its significant prize purses, making it a highly anticipated event in the strength sports community.

The event features individual CrossFit competitions, a strongman competition, and a Rogue Record Breaker segment that showcases athletes’ accomplishments across various strength disciplines. The CrossFit competitions typically span over four days and include multiple events designed to test the athletes’ fitness and strength comprehensively. In 2020, due to the pandemic, the event was held online, but it returned to live competition in 2021 at Dell Diamond near Austin, Texas, with a minimum prize purse of $1.25 million, making it the largest in CrossFit outside of the CrossFit Games. This prize pool also includes coverage for all competing athletes’ airfare and accommodation, further highlighting the Invitational’s prominence and appeal to top-tier athletes.

The strongman component of the Rogue Invitational includes challenging events featuring specially constructed equipment, such as the “Wheel of Pain” and the “Elephant Bar” for deadlifts, among others. These events are designed not only to test the competitors’ strength but also to entertain the audience with unique and visually impressive feats of power.

The Rogue Invitational has grown in scale and reputation over the years, attracting top athletes from around the world in both CrossFit and strongman. It is not only a competition but also a celebration of strength sports, offering fans an opportunity to witness some of the fittest and strongest individuals compete in a variety of demanding disciplines
