CrossFit has revealed that two athletes have received a ban for 4 years from competing at CrossFit-sanctioned events. Ilias Kuliev and Anatolii Borisenko were in violation of the CrossFit Drug Testing Policy and their appeals have been denied.

BOXROX has previously broken the news that Ilias Kuliev and Anatolii Borisenko, along with Ivan Kukartsev and Tyler Lee, all provided samples with an illegal substance after participating at CrossFit Semifinals – three of them were Russian athletes at the Asia Semifinal and Kukartsev thinks someone illegally spiked his drink during competition.

  • Ilias Kuliev – 3rd place finisher at the Asia Semifinal – provided a sample on-site on May 19, 2024, that contained 3a-hydroxy-2a-methyl-5a-androstan-17-one, a metabolite of Drostanolone.
  • Anatolii Borisenko – 4th place finisher at the Asia Semifinal – provided a sample on-site on May 19, 2024, that contained GW1516-sulfone and GW1516-sulfoxide, metabolites of GW1516.

Four weeks after officially being outed by CrossFit, the organization now revealed that both Ilias Kuliev and Anatolii Borisenko have had their appeals denied and, therefore, received the typical 4-year ban from competing.

The CrossFit Games is taking place on August 8-11 in Fort Worth, Texas.
