Raw Iron CrossFit Mayhem Thunder have won the 2024 CrossFit Games Team division.
The Aussie super team consisted of James Newbury, Khan Porter, Kara Saunders and Emily de Rooy.
Veteran Games athlete Kara Saunders decided this would be her final CrossFit Games, and she wanted to go out on her own terms. What a way to finish! She announced her retirement after the final event.
There has never been an Oceanic team finishing any better than 6th at the CrossFit Games. This year, in 2024, two finished on the podium, with CrossFit Torian Mayhem also making the podium.
In the interview, Kara stated that “It’s taken me 11 years and 13 years to get here” and that when it came to winning, “I wasn’t supposed to do it on my own”.
